Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Boris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Rice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Boris!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rice scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rice tries to move to mount but Boris blocks the move with his legs.

Rice goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Boris has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rice but great work by Boris.

Boris decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Rice closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boris quickly recovers to half guard.

Boris is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rice's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rice's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Boris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Boris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rice feints and as Boris raises his hands in defense, Rice changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rice is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boris defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Boris throws a jab but it's blocked by Rice.

Rice leaves Boris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Boris throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rice sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Boris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rice but Rice pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Boris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rice stands and throws Boris's legs to the side, diving into side control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Boris wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bill Boris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sam Rice is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rice fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Sam Rice showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rice has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
