Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hiapo Makaha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Jayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jayne has chosen The Doors-People Are Strange as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Patrick Jayne!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makaha misses with a leg kick.
Jayne tries for a takedown but Makaha sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Makaha misses with a hook.
Jayne scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Makaha is not content to let Jayne control the position.
Makaha is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jayne is controlling him well.
Jayne sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Makaha is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Makaha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jayne on the ground.
Jayne might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Makaha kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jayne blocks Makaha's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Jayne postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Makaha looks a forlorn figure.
Jayne fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Makaha takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Makaha tries to reverse the position but Jayne maintains control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jayne cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jayne cracks Makaha with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jayne breaks from Makaha's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Makaha is rocked!
Jayne has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Makaha is squirming around, avoiding Jayne's attempts to control the action.
Oh Makaha is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jayne lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Makaha! Jayne sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Makaha and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Patrick Jayne!
