PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oberyn Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lentti Pindegren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Red might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Limp Bizkit Eat You Alive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Lentti Pindegren!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Pindegren misses.
Sloppy strikes from Pindegren. Those never looked like landing.
Decent striking displayed by Red there.
The crowd cheers as Red lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pindegren doesn't seem phased though.
Pindegren misses with a head kick.
Pindegren connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Red checks the leg kick.
Pindegren keeps the fight on the outside.
A nice inside leg kick there by Red. That's going to slow Pindegren down.
Red scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

It looks like Lentti Pindegren has been cut.
Lentti Pindegren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Red slips under a jab.
Red tries a head kick but it misses.
Red throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pindegren tries to bum rush Red with a series of wild strikes but Red uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Red misses with a low kick as Pindegren jumps back.

Red is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pindegren.
Red misses with an uppercut. Pindegren saw that one coming.
Pindegren throws the left hand but Red avoids the punch easily.
Pindegren throws out a leg kick but Red moves out of range and Pindegren only half commits.
Red swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pindegren misses with a jab, cross combination.
Red feints a jab promting Pindegren to slip. Red then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pindegren slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Red looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pindegren shoots in looking for a takedown. Red tries to sprawl out of it but Pindegren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Red manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Pindegren checks a leg kick.

Red wants to clinch up but Pindegren keeps it at a distance.
Pindegren moves out of range of the leg kick from Red.
Pindegren misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Red counters with a three punch combo that has Pindegren backing up. Pindegren nods at Red to acknowledge the strikes.
Pindegren throws a series of punches but Red avoids them all with ease.
Pindegren misses with a few strikes there.
Pindegren dodges the punch combination from Red.
Red misses with a hook.
Red wants to clinch up but Pindegren keeps it at a distance.
Pindegren swats away the attempt to clinch by Red.
Pindegren feints a jab promting Red to slip. Pindegren then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Red slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Oberyn Red has been cut.

Pindegren shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Red is trying to defend but Pindegren finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pindegren is working for a kimura here but Red manages to reverse the position and he's now in Pindegren's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pindegren wants to control from the top but Red keeps moving.

Pindegren sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Red doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Pindegren paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Red - great work!

A relieved looking Oberyn Red thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
