The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitachi darts in trying to clinch
and Deerfield cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hitachi tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Deerfield counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Deerfield. That snapped Hitachi's head back.

It looks like Philco Hitachi has been cut.
Philco Hitachi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deerfield's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hitachi under the eye.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hitachi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hitachi looks to clinch
and Deerfield counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Deerfield feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hitachi sprawling to the canvas! Hitachi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Deerfield finish him?!

Hitachi is rocked!
Deerfield dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hitachi. That did some damage!
Oh Hitachi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Deerfield fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
BOOM! Deerfield lands a beautiful left hook that drops Hitachi. Hitachi tries to recover but Deerfield is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Hitachi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
