Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Red Belt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seth Wray!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wray scores with a sloppy right hand. Belt should have avoided that one.


It looks like Red Belt has been cut.
Wray scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Belt doesn't seem bothered though.
Wray throws a right hand that misses

and Belt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wray makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wray.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Belt stopping the sweep attempt from Wray.
Wray preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Belt landing with the ground and pound.
Belt throws a big elbow that misses.

Wray escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Belt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Belt tries to free his leg and advance position but Wray is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Belt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wray wants to sweep here but Belt controlling him for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wray can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wray keeping moving, preventing Belt from controlling successfully.
Belt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wray works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Belt trying to control the position from guard on top but Wray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wray avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Belt won't allow Wray to sweep him here.

Belt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wray manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Belt has Wray in his guard.

Belt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wray defends well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Belt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Belt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Belt throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wray uses it to pass to side control.
Belt is looking for a sweep.
Belt is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wray's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Belt misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Belt looking for a kimura from the bottom but Wray passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on Belt's face as Wray controls the position.
Belt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wray wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wray working the ground and pound but Belt is defending the strikes.
Wray is looking to take a break and control but Belt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Belt manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Wray is looking to improve his position.
Wray is looking to escape.
Wray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Belt has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Wray defend it? Belt steps over the head and cranks it - Wray is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Belt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Red Belt!
Red Belt is the new middleweight champion!
