PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raging Douche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gites throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Douche looks to land a left hand but Gites moved out of range nicely.
Douche throws a head kick but Gites moves out of range.
Gites cracks Douche with a right hand to the side of the head.
Douche throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Douche throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Douche throws a head kick that misses.
Gites scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
A looping hook to the body misses from Douche. Gites does a little dance to reset his feet.

Gites pushes Douche up against the ropes in a clinch.
Douche blocks an elbow strike.

Gites ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gites no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Gites is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Douche is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gites escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Douche gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Douche avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gites looking for subs off his back but Douche has passed one foot through into half guard.
Douche tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gites controls his leg.

Douche wants to stand up but Gites is controlling the position.
Gites slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Gites has an active guard here but Douche has managed to pass into half guard.
Douche prevents Gites from improving his position.

Gites has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Douche is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Douche escapes and gets back to his feet.
Gites lands a lovely overhand right.
Gites connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
A looping hook to the body misses from Douche. Gites does a little dance to reset his feet.
Douche moves forwards but Gites connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Douche uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gites.
Gites throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Douche fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gites manages to avoid it.
Raging Douche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douche misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Douche scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gites doesn't seem bothered though.
Gites avoids the body shot from Douche.

and Gites counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Douche lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gites's sensitive parts.
Gites has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Gites closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Douche's guard.
Gites in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gites connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gites has gone for a leg lock! Douche slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gites's guard.

Douche gets to his feet - Gites follows without any prompting.

John Gites seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Gites counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Gites shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Gites is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Douche has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Douche!
Gites not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gites wants to sweep but no luck.

Gites is looking to sinch up a triangle. Douche throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gites's body to avoid the submission. Gites has instead reached around Douche's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gites arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
