Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gim Ruut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dois Pra Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ruut might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mind Eraser, No Chaser - Them Crooked Vultures. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dois Pra Um!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pra Um throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pra Um avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pra Um misses the shot to the body.
Pra Um tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ruut was well out of range. Poor timing from Pra Um.
Ruut scores with a jab. Pra Um acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ruut misses with a series of wild punches.

Ruut shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pra Um is trying to defend but Ruut finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ruut is looking for a kimura but Pra Um is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ruut to get the leverage.

Ruut has hold of Pra Um's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pra Um manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pra Um is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruut has a good base and remains in mount.
Ruut avoids the attempt from Pra Um to control.

Ruut with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pra Um regains half guard.

Ruut wants to work for an arm triangle but Pra Um is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Pra Um takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Pra Um connects with the punch.
Pra Um fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pra Um tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ruut was well out of range. Poor timing from Pra Um.
Ruut comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Ruut counters with a takedown into side control.

Ruut thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ruut is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pra Um has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pra Um throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Ruut working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pra Um tries to bench press Ruut off him but Ruut keeps the position.

Ruut wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pra Um, who protects the arm well.
Pra Um gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Ruut is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pra Um is just riding it out for now. Ruut eventually gives up the hold.
Ruut uses his free foot to push down on Pra Um's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pra Um.
Pra Um tries to reverse the position but Ruut maintains control.

Ruut has control of Pra Um's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pra Um regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Ruut stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Ruut throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pra Um.
Ruut throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ruut really wants to buck Pra Um off and get back to his feet.

Ruut bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Pra Um ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruut moves away.
Pra Um moves in looking to clinch but Ruut pushes him off.
Pra Um fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ruut looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pra Um cracks Ruut with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gim Ruut dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Pra Um doesn't manage to clinch there - Ruut circles away.

Well Ruut has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
