Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Bower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nixon comes to the cage accompanied by The Upsetters - Dread Lion. Bower is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: When I'm With You. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Nixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Bower!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon lands a lovely overhand right.

Bower closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bower has picked Nixon up - he's going for a ride! Bower dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bower accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bower throws a strike but Nixon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Nixon stops Bower from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Bower showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Nixon shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bower is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Nixon rather than just go for the knockout.
Bower ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nixon moves away.
Nixon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bower. That did some damage!
A left and a right from Bower both land. Nice combination.
Nixon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bower fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nixon has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Bower wants the takedown. Nixon is fighting it off but Bower persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nixon's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well Bower has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
