Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Allan Kulintang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tarik Gibson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kulintang takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Both fighters circling a little - Gibson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Gibson staying out of range there.
Kulintang cracks Gibson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Gibson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kulintang has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kulintang fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gibson misses with a wild body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kulintang lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gibson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gibson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kulintang checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Kulintang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gibson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A jab from Kulintang misses.
Kulintang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gibson misses with a hook.
Gibson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gibson misses with a body kick.
Kulintang takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kulintang. Kulintang circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kulintang misses with a hook. Gibson ducked under it nicely.
Kulintang avoids a kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gibson. Kulintang does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gibson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gibson misses with a wild body shot.
Gibson connects with an inside leg kick.
Kulintang has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gibson.
Gibson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kulintang.
Gibson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kulintang will feel that in the morning.
Kulintang is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gibson takes a swing at Kulintang's ribcage but misses.
Gibson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gibson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kulintang jabs Gibson right on the nose. Gibson blinks but takes it well.
Gibson throws out a head kick that Kulintang doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Kulintang crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Kulintang's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Kulintang is rocked!
It looks like Allan Kulintang has been cut.
Gibson delivers a nice body kick.
Oh Kulintang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gibson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kulintang's sensitive parts.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kulintang leaves his chin hanging out and Gibson seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Kulintang crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tarik Gibson!
