PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dingo Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sahastrahabu Prabal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prabal has chosen Rush - Nobody´s Hero as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sahastrahabu Prabal told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dingo Monster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sahastrahabu Prabal!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prabal swings for the body but Monster moves out of range.
Monster stuffs the takedown attempt from Prabal. Prabal gets slowly back to his feet.
Prabal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Monster tries to avoid it but Prabal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Monster to the ground. Monster escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Prabal dives in and grabs Monster's left leg, looking for a takedown. Monster pushes down on Prabal's head and hops out.
Dingo Monster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sahastrahabu Prabal.
Prabal shoots in for a double leg but Monster sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Prabal shoots in but no luck this time.
Prabal takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Prabal misses with a combination
and Monster counters with an outside leg kick.
Monster scores with a jab to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Prabal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Monster as he avoids it easily.
Prabal looks gassed!
Prabal fails with the takedown
and Monster counters with a nice leg kick.
Monster thumps Prabal with a low kick.
Prabal takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Monster tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Monster lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Prabal tries to keep at a distance but Monster has taken the fight into the clinch.
Monster stalling against the cage.
Knees to the body from Monster.
Monster pushes Prabal back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Monster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Monster lands a nice hook to Prabal's body. Prabal takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Monster jabs Prabal to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Monster fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Prabal has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Monster closes the distance and clinches.
Prabal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Monster just stands there and leans against the cage.
Monster lands a nice knee to the body.
Monster lands a body shot in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Monster - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Prabal takes a shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Monster effectively controlling the action here.
Monster lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Monster working some nice short punches in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Monster creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Monster lands a left hand that snaps the head of Prabal backwards.
Prabal jumps guard but Monster turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Prabal tries to pull guard but Monster holds him up against the cage and eventually Prabal drops back down to his feet.
Monster crunches a lovely knee into Prabal's ribcage.
A nice left hand lands by Monster.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Monster.
Good body shot from Monster.
Monster scores with a nice hook to the head.
Monster lands with a light punch inside.
Monster lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Prabal is rocked!
Monster works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Prabal is still on wobbly legs! Can Monster finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A short body shot lands from Monster as the two fighters clinch.
Prabal seems to have recovered his senses.
Monster lands with a right to the head.
Monster throws a big uppercut that drops Prabal! More strikes from Monster and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Prabal lies dazed against the cage as Monster celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dingo Monster!
Dingo Monster bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
