The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zulud throws a wild body kick that Volkov sees coming a mile off.
Volkov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Omg Zulud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Volkov showed some decent athleticism there.

Volkov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zulud looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zulud looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zulud!

Zulud sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Volkov doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Zulud paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Volkov - great work!

In his post fight interview, Nik Volkov started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
