The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quaid works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Primeiro rushes Quaid and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Primeiro could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Quaid is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Primeiro pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Quaid is trying to force a seperation but Primeiro has the dominant position.
Primeiro tries to stall but Quaid uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Primeiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Primeiro lands a nice shot to the body.

and Quaid counters with a three punch combo that has Primeiro backing up. Primeiro nods at Quaid to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Quaid throws a hook to the side of Primeiro's head but Primeiro sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Quaid missing with a left hand there. Primeiro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Quaid decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Primeiro's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Quaid makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Quaid is in close to Primeiro's body, working some short punches and elbows.

It looks like Aragorn Primeiro has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
