PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Mote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Mote told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Mote!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a solid leg kick but Mote takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jenkins.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jenkins.
Mote closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jenkins counters with a shoot takedown. Mote fights it but they end up in guard.
Jenkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Mote is retaining full guard.
Jenkins showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Jenkins pushing down on Mote's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Jenkins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Jenkins is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Mote is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Mote flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Jenkins anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Mote and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Jenkins slips an arm under Mote chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Jenkins has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Jenkins is squeezing on Mote like an anaconda would it's prey. Mote fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
