The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diprivan lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Diprivan is looking to clinch.
Watson connects with a solid leg kick.
Diprivan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Watson has Diprivan up against the cage in a clinch.
Diprivan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Watson scores with a shoulder strike.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Watson.
Diprivan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Diprivan working hard to break the clinch.
Watson keeps control of Diprivan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diprivan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Watson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Diprivan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diprivan moves out of range as Watson throws a body kick.
Watson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Diprivan.

Diprivan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fighters circling - Watson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Watson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Diprivan is out of range and Watson settles back down.
Diprivan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Watson.
Watson lands a jab to Diprivan's midsection.
Diprivan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Diprivan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Diprivan misses with a low kick.
Watson throws a body punch but Diprivan moves out of range.

Watson drives through and clinches with Diprivan against the cage.
Diprivan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Watson scores with a shot to the side of Diprivan's head.
Watson avoiding damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Watson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Diprivan looking for a takedown.
Watson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Diprivan looks gassed!
Watson pushes Diprivan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Watson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Watson for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

It looks like Milan Diprivan has been cut.

Watson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Watson manages to end up in side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Diprivan is being controlled here.
Diprivan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Watson connects with a decent elbow.
Watson advances nicely into full mount.
Watson lands a big shot there that rocks Diprivan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Diprivan's face.


Diprivan is rocked!
Oooh a big shot lands for Watson! Diprivan is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Watson!
