The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anastasio keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hayes.
Hayes lands a jab to the nose.

It looks like Trey Anastasio has been cut.
Hayes stuffs the takedown.
Hayes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Anastasio has time to react.
A jab lands there for Hayes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anastasio tries a head kick but it misses.
Anastasio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hayes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hayes's corner calls for a 1-2. Hayes obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Anastasio.
Anastasio shoots in for a takedown but Hayes shows good takedown defense.
Ryan Hayes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Anastasio.

Hayes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Anastasio looks for a takedown but Hayes sprawls well.

Anastasio shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hayes is trying to defend but Anastasio finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

A very excited looking Trey Anastasio rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
