Murquite is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Não Posso Mais. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abdoul Murquite!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murquite tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Crimson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Crimson tests Murquite's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Abdoul Murquite has been cut.

Murquite closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Crimson did well to prevent Murquite getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Crimson is looking for a sweep. Murquite is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Murquite trying to control the action but Crimson is working from the bottom.

Crimson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Crimson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Murquite pulls his head out easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Crimson tries to roll over but Murquite keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Murquite connects with a nice short shot to Crimson's temple.

Crimson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Murquite pulls his head out easily.
Murquite thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Murquite seems to be working for a kimura but Crimson defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Murquite tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crimson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Murquite wants to free his trapped foot but Crimson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's time! Crimson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Murquite fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crimson, pushing him back against the cage.
Murquite wants a takedown but no success here.
Crimson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Murquite to keep the fight standing.

Murquite has clasped his hands together around Crimson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Crimson is looking for a sweep.
Murquite works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Murquite is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Crimson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Murquite gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Crimson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Murquite lets go of the hold and Crimson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Abdoul Murquite!
After winning the bout, Abdoul Murquite thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
