Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rich Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simons III avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Simons III misses with a wild combination.
Simons III shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Silva working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Simons III's thigh. Simons III counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Simons III working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simons III had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simons III Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Silva manages to reverse the position and now he's in Simons III's guard. Nice work there by Silva.

Simons III has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.
Simons III looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Silva is defending well. Simons III quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Silva has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Simons III celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
