Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taj al Din (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry comes to the cage accompanied by Run For Cover. al Din has chosen قنب هندي as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Taj al Din!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from al Din as Perry shoots in.
A looping hook to the body misses from Perry. al Din does a little dance to reset his feet.
Perry tries to move into range but al Din moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Perry scores with a nice strike.
Perry misses the jab.

Perry gets a double leg takedown into al Din's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Perry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. al Din swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
al Din utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
al Din preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Perry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Perry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A combination from al Din does no damage.
al Din throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Perry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. al Din looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Perry works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The strikes coming from Perry are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Perry tries to move to mount but al Din blocks the move with his legs.
Perry wants to lay and pray for a moment but al Din keeps working.
al Din is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
al Din manages to work his way to half guard, despite Perry's best efforts.

Perry seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Perry is looking to take a break and control but al Din is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
al Din has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Perry is working away from the top position though.
Perry wants to lay and pray for a moment but al Din keeps working.
Perry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perry is stalling here. al Din is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Perry seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and al Din has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Perry sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

al Din lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Oh Perry is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Perry seems to have got his legs back now.
al Din sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
al Din is trying to control but can't.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
al Din is refusing to be controlled, as Perry sits in half guard.
Perry thows a huge punch but al Din dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taj al Din showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

al Din misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Perry.
Perry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has al Din pinned against the cage. al Din gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

al Din swings wildly with an uppercut but Perry uses good head movement to avoid it.

al Din throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Perry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

al Din stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and al Din wants it to stay on the feet.

and as Perry loses concentration momentarily, al Din counters with a picture perfect head kick! Perry goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
