Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen LL Cool J - Mamma Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. Calvin Thompson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calvin Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero scores with a body shot.
Zero missing with a left hand there. Thompson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Thompson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zero has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Zero throws a leg kick
and Thompson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zero tries to land a front kick but Thompson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Thompson throws a solid leg kick but Zero takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Thompson.
Zero throws an overhand right that lands on Thompson's shoulder, as Thompson tries to avoid the shot.
Zero misses with a low kick.
Thompson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zero takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Zero throws a leg kick
and Thompson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Thompson leaves Zero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Zero closes the distance and clinches up with Thompson, looking for a takedown. Zero pushes Thompson against the cage but Thompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thompson closes the distance and pushes Zero back into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Zero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thompson misses with a head kick.
Zero misses with a head kick.
Zero pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Zero shoots in looking for a takedown. Thompson tries to sprawl out of it but Zero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thompson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sub Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thompson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zero swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Zero gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Thompson.
Thompson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Zero momentarily.

Zero rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Thompson to counter with a crisp jab.
Thompson throws a body punch but Zero moves out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Zero.
Zero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thompson is fending him off so far but Zero persists. Nope, Thompson circles away and we're back to standing.
Zero looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Thompson!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thompson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Thompson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Zero punishing his opponent with strikes.
Thompson tries to hold on but Zero pushes him away.
Zero looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Zero lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zero with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Zero lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
It looks like Calvin Thompson has been cut.
Zero thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Zero has control of Thompson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Thompson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Zero throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Zero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sub Zero was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
