Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles comes into the arena with Tupac - Only God Can Judge Me blaring out of the sound system. Matthews is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by God's Gonna Cut You Down . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darrell Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Matthews!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles shoots in for a takedown but Matthews shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Miles keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Miles jabs Matthews right on the nose. Matthews blinks but takes it well.
Matthews misses with a wild body shot.
Miles jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Miles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matthews.
Matthews keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Miles.
Matthews tries to clinch but Miles is having none of it.
Miles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Matthews pinned against the cage. Matthews gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Matthews takes a swing at Miles's ribcage but misses.
Miles looks to score with a jab to the body but Matthews is just out of range.
Miles closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Matthews's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Miles throws a strike but Matthews rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Matthews sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Miles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Miles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Matthews!
Miles is landing with some decent strikes but Matthews is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Miles has hold of Matthews's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Matthews manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matthews can do anything to dispel that myth.
Miles pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
