Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karter Duxx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Sutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karter Duxx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Sutter!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duxx tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Duxx gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sutter stalling in the clinch but Duxx improves position.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sutter just misses with a elbow thrown towards Duxx's brow.
Duxx keeps control of Sutter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Duxx working aggressively here.
Sutter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Duxx avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Duxx trying to land knees to the body.
Duxx lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Sutter is trying to break free.

Sutter has picked Duxx up - he's going for a ride! Sutter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Sutter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duxx's head.
Sutter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
It looks like Sutter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Sutter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sutter is keen to just control but Duxx is a slippery customer.

Sutter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Duxx with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sutter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sutter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Duxx sees it coming and defends easily.
Sutter stops Duxx from getting back to his feet.

Duxx is staying active underneath Sutter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sutter missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Duxx is trying to stand.
Sutter lands with a punch from half guard.
Sutter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Sutter drops an elbow to the side of Duxx's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duxx is not content to let Sutter control the position.
Sutter missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sutter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sutter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sutter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Duxx avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sutter.
Sutter is trying to control the action in half guard but Duxx is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sutter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sutter landing punches.
Sutter landing strikes, looking to finish!
Sutter breaks from Duxx's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Duxx is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sutter is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Duxx goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Sutter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Sutter!
