PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adis Djurdjevic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel has chosen Immortal Technique-Point of no return as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adis Djurdjevic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Steel!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel is looking to clinch but Djurdjevic is avoiding it.
A big right from Steel misses.
Steel takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Djurdjevic keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Djurdjevic scores with a kick to the midsection.
Djurdjevic lands with a cross.
Steel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Djurdjevic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Steel with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Djurdjevic to score with a decent uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Djurdjevic feints and then cracks Steel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Steel down.
Steel swinging wildly here.
Djurdjevic scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
An inside leg kick lands from Djurdjevic.
Steel throws a series of punches but Djurdjevic moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Steel. Djurdjevic does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Djurdjevic counters with a thumping low kick.
Steel walks forward, straight into a front kick from Djurdjevic.
Steel looks gassed!
Steel sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Djurdjevic works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Djurdjevic scores with a head kick. Steel tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Cory Steel has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Djurdjevic drops Steel with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Steel looks back up at him and smiles so Djurdjevic waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Djurdjevic feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Steel's calf.
Djurdjevic throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Djurdjevic is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Steel takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Djurdjevic lands a big head kick that sends Steel tumbling to the mat! Djurdjevic takes a step backwards and waves Steel back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Steel is rocked!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Djurdjevic.
Djurdjevic throws a sloppy head kick and Steel moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Djurdjevic lands a jab to the nose.
Djurdjevic ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Steel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Djurdjevic pushes Steel away with a front kick.
Cory Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Djurdjevic fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Djurdjevic lands with a nice body punch.
Djurdjevic cracks Steel with an open hand slap.
A nice leg kick lands there from Djurdjevic.
Steel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Djurdjevic connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Steel to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Djurdjevic!
