Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Calypso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poncho Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calypso comes to the ring accompanied by Jedi Mind Tricks - Genghis Khan . Rojo has chosen War is my destiny as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Calypso!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Poncho Rojo!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojo with a lazy takedown attempt

Calypso scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rojo is trying to get back to full guard.

Rojo is defending against the submission attempts here by Calypso.
Calypso is pressing down on Rojo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rojo is holding on for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Calypso seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rojo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Poncho Rojo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rojo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Calypso is working away from the top position though.

Calypso will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

A looping hook to the body misses from Calypso. Rojo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rojo looks to land a left hand but Calypso moved out of range nicely.
Rojo shoots in but Calypso avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rojo shoots in looking for a takedown but Calypso manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rojo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Poncho Rojo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
