The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeNardo missing with a left hand there. Virtanen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A telegraphed right hand from DeNardo misses the target.
DeNardo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Virtanen sprawls well initially but DeNardo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
DeNardo is trying to work for a kimura but Virtanen is defending well.
DeNardo is pressing down on Virtanen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Virtanen is holding on for now.
