PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lonje Moco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Jurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock N Roll Train kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jurgel throws a nice outside leg kick.
Moco throws a push kick but Jurgel slaps the foot to one side.
Moco defending well as Jurgel loads up on a big left hand.

Moco has managed to clinch.

Moco turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Moco in the domination position with Jurgel hanging on.
Moco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jurgel keeps working.
Moco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jurgel is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jurgel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Moco fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jurgel, pushing him back against the cage.
Moco tries to circle away but Jurgel has him pinned against the cage.
Jurgel tries to pull guard but Moco won't allow it.
Jurgel wants a takedown.

Moco has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jurgel regains guard immediately.
Jurgel has control of Moco's left arm, preventing Moco from doing any damage.

Let's hope that Jurgel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Moco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jurgel jumps guard but Moco turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Lonje Moco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gorge Jurgel.

That was a close round but I would say that Lonje Moco will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Moco drives through and clinches with Jurgel against the cage.

Moco turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Moco manages to end up in side control.
A lull in the action here as Moco stalls from top position.
Moco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jurgel keeps working.

Moco is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jurgel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Moco looking to control but instead Jurgel has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Jurgel wants to get back to full guard.
Moco tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jurgel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Moco wants to advance to full mount but Jurgel doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Moco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jurgel holds on and takes a little breather.
Lonje Moco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jurgel scores with a sloppy right hand. Moco should have avoided that one.
Moco walks into a straight right hand from Jurgel.

Moco drives through and clinches with Jurgel against the cage.

Moco has Jurgel pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Moco pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jurgel tumbling to the mat - Moco dives into Jurgel's guard.

Moco wants the takedown. Jurgel is fighting it off but Moco persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jurgel's guard against the cage.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Moco, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
