Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Grant Vanguard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanguard scores with a head kick.
Out has a takedown stuffed.
Vanguard tries to close the distance and clinch but Out swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Out is working for takedown but Vanguard is calmly controlling the position for now.

Out turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vanguard parries the strikes from Out easily there. Out is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vanguard to escape.

Vanguard is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Out won't let Vanguard get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vanguard is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Out swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Vanguard is now in Out's guard. A big mistake from Out there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tap Out will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Vanguard gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Out is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Out drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Grant Vanguard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tap Out.

Vanguard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vanguard throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vanguard stuffs the takedown attempt from Out. Out gets slowly back to his feet.

Vanguard tries to close the distance and clinch but Out swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Out shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vanguard pinned against the cage. Vanguard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Out misses with a takedown attempt - Vanguard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vanguard stuffs the takedown attempt from Out. Out gets slowly back to his feet.
Vanguard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Out shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vanguard as he avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Out shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Out was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vanguard is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Vanguard tries to lock up and control but Out gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Vanguard is trying desperately to improve position.
Out wants to control the action but instead Vanguard gets a body lock and reverses into Out's guard! Nice work!
Out is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Out is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vanguard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Out has his foot on Vanguard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vanguard works his way back into a safe position though.
Out looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vanguard is one step ahead there.

Out is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vanguard is aware though and is defending well.

Out throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vanguard escapes and throws Out's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Grant Vanguard will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Out shoots in looking for a takedown but Vanguard manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Out's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vanguard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Vanguard swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Vanguard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Vanguard closes the distance and pushes Out back into the cage.
Vanguard stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Vanguard digs a right hand into Out's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Out's gas tank.

Vanguard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Out slips a jab and a cross from Vanguard.
Vanguard pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Tap Out seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Out.
Vanguard connects with an inside leg kick.
Out has a takedown stuffed.
Grant Vanguard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tap Out.
Vanguard keeps Out at a distance using the push kick.
Vanguard throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
No luck for Out with that takedown attempt.

Whack! Vanguard lands a heavy head kick that drops Out. The ref tackles Vanguard to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Out was done.
