Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Abaka Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray Mayweather!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather lands with a cross.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt.
Khan is looking to clinch but Mayweather is avoiding it.
Mayweather connects with a crisp jab.
Nice takedown defense from Mayweather. No joy for Khan on that attempt.
Khan closes the distance but Mayweather moves to the side
and Mayweather counters with a crisp right hand that drops Khan! Mayweather lets Khan back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Khan is rocked!
It looks like Abaka Khan has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mayweather's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Khan stands up and waves to Mayweather to follow him.
Khan looks to clinch
and Mayweather counters with a stiff right hand.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mayweather sprawls well. Mayweather wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Khan gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abaka Khan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mayweather.
Khan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mayweather scores with a body shot.
Khan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Khan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Mayweather counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Khan falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ray Mayweather!
During a confident post fight interview, Ray Mayweather thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
