The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres connects with a high kick.
Syrovatkin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Alfredo Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Syrovatkin lands the left hand.
Torres tries to clinch up but Syrovatkin circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice uppercut there from Torres.
Syrovatkin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Syrovatkin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Torres circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Syrovatkin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Syrovatkin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Torres avoids it really well and circles away.

Syrovatkin throws a looping overhand right but Torres ducks down to avoid it.

Torres tries for a takedown but Syrovatkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Syrovatkin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Syrovatkin bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Torres throws a leg kick that misses.
Syrovatkin looks to throw the jab but Torres is out of range.
Torres steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Syrovatkin.
Syrovatkin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Torres!
Torres regains half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Torres is looking for a sweep. Syrovatkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Torres is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Syrovatkin pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Syrovatkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Torres avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Torres is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Syrovatkin has his hands clasped together but Torres extends an breaks Syrovatkin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Torres.
