Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oktawian August (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). August has chosen Hit 'em up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

August gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but August keeps him there for the moment.

August pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
August steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.
August misses with a series of wild punches.
August connects with a solid leg kick.

August closes the distance and clinches.

August manages to break the clinch.

August moves into the clinch successfully.

August drags the fight down to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

August pushes Silva off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

August drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

August has hold of Silva's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Silva tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - August cranks the arm and Silva screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Silva, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
