PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reed comes into the arena with Jean Baptiste Lully - Marche Royale blaring out of the sound system. Jenkins has chosen take it like a man as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed scores with a head kick.
Reed has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jenkins.
Reed swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jenkins counters with a two punch combo.
Jenkins throws an off balance right hand
and Reed counters with a straight right hand.
Jenkins throws an overhand right that lands on Reed's shoulder, as Reed tries to avoid the shot.
Jenkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Reed's head.
Jenkins blocks a low kick nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jenkins looks to land a right hand but Reed moved out of range.
Reed scores with a punch to the head.
Reed swings for the body but Jenkins moves out of range.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Reed wants to stand but Jenkins is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jenkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Reed avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jenkins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reed defends well.

Jenkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reed's guard.

Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reed paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reed as he avoids it easily.

Jenkins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Reed walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jenkins checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Jenkins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reed.

Reed lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Jenkins throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reed on the side of the head.
Jenkins loads up on a big right hand but Reed slips the punch.
Jenkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Reed doesn't seem bothered though.

Reed slips a straight right by Jenkins.
Reed takes one to the side of the head.

Jenkins jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Jenkins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Reed pulls Jenkins in close to prevent any damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oliver Reed will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jenkins throws a punch but it's blocked by Reed.
Jenkins tries to pull guard but Reed holds him up against the cage and eventually Jenkins drops back down to his feet.
Jenkins swings wildly with an uppercut but Reed uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jenkins blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jenkins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Reed smiles and moves away.
Oliver Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Jenkins.
Reed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jenkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reed.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Reed.

Jenkins attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Reed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jenkins.

Jenkins goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Reed misses with some punches.
Jenkins blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jenkins jumps guard but Reed stands there with Jenkins around his waist. Jenkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Reed misses with a hook to the ribs.

Jenkins struggles to land a body shot inside as Reed controls his hands.
Jenkins is working Reed over against the cage.
Reed prevents a body shot from Jenkins.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jenkins.
Jenkins is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Reed to keep the fight standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
