Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micky Mcgarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Potnoir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Micky Mcgarry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Potnoir!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mcgarry crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Potnoir - the referee stops the clock and Mcgarry gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Potnoir. Mcgarry manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Potnoir clinches up against the cage.

Potnoir breaks from the clinch.
Mcgarry doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Potnoir counters with a nice body shot.

Potnoir rushes Mcgarry and presses him up against the cage.
Mcgarry tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Potnoir smiles and moves away.
No joy there for Potnoir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Potnoir lands the left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mcgarry misses with a takedown attempt

and Potnoir counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Mcgarry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Potnoir misses with a punch to the body.

Potnoir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jason Potnoir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potnoir has taken the fight to the clinch.

Potnoir breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcgarry needs to keep his hands up - Potnoir had a free shot at his head there.
Potnoir connects with a jab.
Potnoir is looking to clinch.
Jason Potnoir is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcgarry takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Mcgarry dives in and grabs Potnoir's left leg, looking for a takedown. Potnoir pushes down on Mcgarry's head and hops out.
Mcgarry misses with a takedown attempt - Potnoir sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mcgarry takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Mcgarry is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Potnoir catches Mcgarry napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Mcgarry to the canvas!
Oh Mcgarry is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Potnoir wants to pass the guard but Mcgarry is keeping the position.
Potnoir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Potnoir advances position into side control!
Mcgarry seems to have got his legs back now.

Potnoir decides to stand back up.

Potnoir throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mcgarry's head.
Potnoir tries to clinch up

and Mcgarry counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Potnoir!

Mcgarry is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Potnoir is surviving well by controlling Mcgarry's body position as best he can.

Mcgarry working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Potnoir really wants to buck Mcgarry off and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcgarry wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Potnoir is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Mcgarry is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Potnoir has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Potnoir is trying desperately to improve position.
Potnoir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mcgarry with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Mcgarry working for a submission but Potnoir is keeping him at bay.
Potnoir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcgarry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Potnoir can't escape the position.

Mcgarry is working for a guillotine from mount but Potnoir frees his head quite easily.

Mcgarry is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Potnoir has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Potnoir!

Potnoir trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mcgarry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potnoir stands up from Mcgarry's guard - Potnoir perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Potnoir throws a head kick that half lands.
Potnoir is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Potnoir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcgarry, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Potnoir.
Mcgarry avoiding damage as Potnoir throws knees to the body.
Potnoir scores with a nice hook to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Potnoir scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mcgarry doesn't seem bothered though.
Potnoir lands with a cross.

Potnoir gets caught napping as Mcgarry dives in and scores a takedown. Potnoir manages to retain guard.
Potnoir is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Potnoir not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Potnoir is looking to stand up but Mcgarry isn't so interested in that idea.

Mcgarry drops back looking for a leg! Potnoir is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Potnoir manages to kick Mcgarry off! Mcgarry jumps back into Potnoir's guard.

Mcgarry is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Potnoir is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Potnoir has escaped and now he's on top!
Mcgarry tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mcgarry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Potnoir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mcgarry wants to sweep here but Potnoir controlling him for the moment.
Mcgarry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Potnoir trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgarry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Potnoir is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Mcgarry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Potnoir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mcgarry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Potnoir is aware though and is defending well.
Micky Mcgarry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcgarry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Potnoir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Potnoir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Potnoir is sitting in close to Mcgarry's body. Mcgarry has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Potnoir is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Potnoir is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mcgarry.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Micky Mcgarry!
Micky Mcgarry decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
