Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lindros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mar Vell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindros wants to slow Vell down by chopping away at his legs.

Vell throws out a loose jab but Lindros uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vell darts in and clinches Lindros up against the cage.

Vell is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Lindros fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Lindros fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vell manages to avoid it.

Vell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lindros advances to half guard.
Vell wants to get back to his feet.
Lindros is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eric Lindros just wasn't active enough.

Vell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lindros was covering up waiting for the punch and Vell finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vell slips nicely into half guard.
Lindros moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Vell won't allow Lindros to sweep him here.

Vell throws a strike but Lindros rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Vell controls Lindros momentarily but Lindros frees himself.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lindros lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vell has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vell and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Vell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lindros is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vell shoots in looking for a takedown. Lindros tries to sprawl out of it but Vell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lindros manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Vell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Vell looks to land a right hand but Lindros moved out of range.

Vell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lindros.

Vell's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Lindros has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Lindros lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

After the fight, Eric Lindros was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
