Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hernando Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maester Ochu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ochu has chosen Clutch - The Incomparable Mr. Flannery as his entrance music. Maester Ochu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hernando Cortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maester Ochu!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez shoots in for a takedown but Ochu shows good takedown defense.
Cortez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ochu defends it nicely.
Cortez thows a body shot but no joy.
Ochu lands the left hand.
Cortez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ochu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cortez scrambles back to his feet.

Cortez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ochu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cortez trying to control the position but Ochu is working away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cortez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Cortez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ochu wants to control but Cortez postures up.

Cortez wants to take a breather but Ochu manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Cortez.

Hernando Cortez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ochu shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cortez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ochu lands a leg kick that knocks Cortez off balance momentarily.
Cortez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ochu works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like Hernando Cortez has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ochu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cortez.
Nice uppercut lands for Ochu. That snapped Cortez's head back.

Cortez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Cortez trying to control the position but Ochu is working away.
The ground and pound from Cortez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Ochu wants to control but Cortez postures up.

Ochu is not content to let Cortez control the position.

Ochu regains half guard.
Cortez trying to advance position but Ochu counters by regaining guard.
Ochu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cortez is one step ahead there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Maester Ochu will probably get the nod.

Cortez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ochu circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Ochu scores with a four punch combination!
Cortez shoots in looking for a takedown but Ochu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cortez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Horrible takedown by Cortez or perhaps it was just good defense by Ochu which made him look bad.

Cortez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ochu cracks Cortez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cortez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cortez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ochu's waist but Ochu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cortez off to one side.
The fighters circling - Ochu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Ochu feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cortez sprawling to the canvas! Cortez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ochu finish him?!

Cortez is rocked!
Ochu lands an uppercut, right on the button! Cortez tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Maester Ochu!
A pretty intense looking Maester Ochu took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
