PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Abaddon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abaddon comes into the arena with Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff blaring out of the sound system. Maia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Vida Bandida. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia misses with the body kick
and Abaddon counters with a good low kick that Maia was not able to check.
Abaddon wants to clinch.
Maia drops his hands momentarily and Abaddon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Demian Maia has been cut.
Jab, jab by Abaddon - just one landing.
The fighters circling - Abaddon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Maia knocks Abaddon to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

It looks like Anthony Abaddon has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Abaddon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maia wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Maia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abaddon keeps working.
The ground and pound from Maia seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maia works to advance to full mount. Abaddon defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Maia postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Abaddon in real trouble here! The ref calls for Abaddon to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
