Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keita Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuki Ozawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keita Aoki!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ozawa gets a clinch.
Aoki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ozawa walks away with a smile on his face. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ozawa fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ozawa throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Aoki's head.


It looks like Keita Aoki has been cut.
Aoki shoots for a double leg takedown but Ozawa sprawls well. He's pushed Aoki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yuki Ozawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keita Aoki.
Ozawa tries to clinch up.
Aoki keeps the fight on the outside.

Ozawa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ozawa swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Aoki gets control of Ozawa's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aoki will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Aoki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ozawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Aoki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ozawa defends well.

Ozawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aoki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ozawa has managed to get both his arms back between Aoki's legs - danger averted.

Aoki looking for a guillotine here but Ozawa defends easily.

Aoki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ozawa defends it easily.

Aoki throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ozawa uses it to pass to side control.
Aoki is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ozawa decides to stand back up.

Aoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ozawa swivels and escapes.
Ozawa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Ozawa rushes Aoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ozawa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ozawa throws a sloppy head kick and Aoki moves out of range easily.
Ozawa wants to clinch.
Ozawa misses with a wild body shot.
Aoki tries for a takedown but Ozawa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ozawa wants to clinch up but Aoki keeps it at a distance.
Yuki Ozawa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Aoki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ozawa tries to close the distance and clinch but Aoki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ozawa swivels and escapes.
Ozawa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aoki circles away quickly and effectively.

Ozawa rushes Aoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ozawa manages to break the clinch.
Ozawa misses with a body kick.
Aoki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ozawa pinned against the cage. Ozawa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ozawa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aoki.

Aoki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ozawa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ozawa has escaped and now he's on top!
Ozawa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aoki has his foot on Ozawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ozawa works his way back into a safe position though.
Ozawa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aoki on the ground.

Aoki throws a strike but Ozawa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That was a close second round but I would say that Yuki Ozawa will probably get the nod.

Ozawa lands a head kick. Aoki smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ozawa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ozawa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
