PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Potnoir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Chuck Jones has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Chuck Jones seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Potnoir!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Potnoir, as that shot connected.


It looks like Chuck Jones has been cut.
Jason Potnoir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Potnoir lands a body shot.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Potnoir, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Potnoir against the cage but Potnoir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Potnoir moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Potnoir defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.

and Potnoir counters with a series of strikes. Jones will be more careful next time no doubt.

Potnoir manages to break the clinch.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Potnoir tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Potnoir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Potnoir stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Potnoir has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Potnoir breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Potnoir tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Potnoir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.

Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Potnoir.
Potnoir ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Potnoir throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range.
Potnoir misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Potnoir.

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Potnoir has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jones is trying to pull guard but Potnoir turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Potnoir fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Potnoir displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jones. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Potnoir's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Potnoir is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
