Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Maul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Doom has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Darth Maul's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Darth Maul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Doom!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maul rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Doom misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maul.
Maul shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Doom as he jumps to the side.
Maul shoots for a takedown but Doom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Doom keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darth Maul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Doom connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Darth Maul has been cut.
A right-left combo lands from Doom.
Maul throws a combination. Doom tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maul fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Doom avoids it really well and circles away.

Maul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maul showed some decent athleticism there.
Maul is looking to advance position but Doom won't allow it.
Doom is trying to control but can't.

Maul drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Doom dives on top into guard.

Maul working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Doom sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Maul's guard.

Doom is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Doom is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maul doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Doom.

Maul is looking for a sweep. Doom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maul is in trouble now - Doom has advanced to mount!
Doom is trying to take his opponent's back.
Maul squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Maul is desperately trying to improve his position but Doom has a good base and remains in mount.

Doom gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Maul misses with a takedown attempt - Doom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Doom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Maul shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Doom pinned against the cage. Doom gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Doom closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Doom wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Maul, who protects the arm well.
Maul tries to bench press Doom off him but Doom keeps the position.
Doom controls the position from side control.
Doom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maul keeps working.
Maul manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Doom is working for a kimura but Maul is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Doom fails in his attempt to clinch.
Doom throws a right hand that Maul ducks under and follows up with a left that Maul also avoids with ease.
Maul lands with a nice body punch.
Doom shoots in for a takedown but Maul shows good takedown defense.
Maul blocks a jab.
Darth Maul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Maul throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Doom.
Maul fails to land the takedown.
Maul throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Doom counters with a left to the body.
Maul uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Doom.
No luck for Maul with that takedown attempt.
Dave Doom seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Doom throws a sloppy head kick and Maul moves out of range easily.
Maul stuffs the takedown attempt from Doom. Doom gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Doom as Maul shoots in.

Doom lands a huge takedown. Maul is out but the ref is slow to react and Doom lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Maul lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
