Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machakos scores with a takedown into Gracie's guard.
Gracie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie has his foot on Machakos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machakos works his way back into a safe position though.
Machakos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Paulo Machakos just wasn't active enough.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machakos circles away.
Machakos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard.
Machakos is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Machakos seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gracie for as long as he can get away with.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Paulo Machakos just wasn't active enough.
Machakos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Machakos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gracie has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Machakos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie is really stuck here.
Machakos misses with an elbow to the head.

Machakos controls the action.
Machakos has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gracie! Can he survive? No! He's out! Machakos gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
