PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yoko Gushiken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiggum Ralph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiggum Ralph told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yoko Gushiken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wiggum Ralph!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gushiken misses the shot to the body.
Ralph misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ralph lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ralph throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gushiken stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ralph throws a low kick but Gushiken moves out of range easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yoko Gushiken will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ralph keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gushiken is looking to wear down Ralph with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Ralph dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gushiken. That did some damage!

Gushiken throws a hook to the side of Ralph's head but Ralph sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Ralph throws a shot from downtown. Gushiken moves away and avoids it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ralph connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gushiken. Gushiken circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gushiken fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ralph on the side of the head.
Gushiken avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Gushiken throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ralph scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ralph dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ralph's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gushiken connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ralph scrambles back to his feet.

Gushiken drops Ralph with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ralph looks back up at him and smiles so Gushiken waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Ralph is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gushiken cracks Ralph with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ralph tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gushiken pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ralph is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yoko Gushiken!
