The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx is looking to clinch.
Rua keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Rua rushes Marx and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Marx takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Pedro Marx has been cut.
Rua is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Marx pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rua landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Marx is breathing heavily.

Rua gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Marx regains guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rua trying to control but Marx is working from the bottom.
Rua postures up in Marx's guard and throws a big left but Marx blocks it.
Rua is looking to work some ground and pound but Marx has wrist control.
Rua trying to control but Marx is working from the bottom.
Rua trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rua wants to control from the top but Marx keeps moving.
Rua throws a big right hand that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marx is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rua dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marx has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rua tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rua working the head with strikes.
Rua works to advance to full mount. Marx defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Rua sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rua landing punches.

Rua looking to control but Marx is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Rua breaks from Marx's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Rua working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rua tries to control but Marx wriggling away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rua cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rua connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Marx is rocked!
Marx tries to improve his position but instead Rua has taken his back!
Oh Marx is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rua lands shots to the head and Marx turtles up! The ref has seen enough and stops the fight! This one is over!
