The crowd seem to be enjoying Kurosawa's choice of entrance music: War drums. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Akira Kurosawa enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akira Kurosawa!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenzie connects with a nice looking jab.

and Kenzie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patrick Kenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kenzie has Kurosawa up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd cheers as Kenzie lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kurosawa doesn't seem phased though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Patrick Kenzie will probably get the nod.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kenzie darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kurosawa in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kurosawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kenzie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurosawa is looking to work some ground and pound but Kenzie has wrist control.
Kurosawa postures up in Kenzie's guard and throws a big left but Kenzie blocks it.
Kurosawa tries to free his leg and advance position but Kenzie is retaining full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
