The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kootz looks to score with a jab to the body but Cliff is just out of range.
Cliff tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kootz is able to avoid easily.
Cliff takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kootz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cliff at a distance.
Kootz throws a leg kick
and Cliff cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cliff checks a leg kick.
Kootz just misses with a punch to the body.
Cliff keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Cliff throws a good cross that connects.

Kootz throws a hook but Cliff avoids it easily.
Kootz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Cliff throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kootz is rocked!
Cliff lands a nice hook to Kootz's body. Kootz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kootz throws a body punch but Cliff moves out of range.
Cliff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
An inside leg kick lands from Cliff.

Kootz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cliff finds it's way round the side to connect with Kootz's head.

Kootz seems to have recovered his senses.
Kootz is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cliff rather than just go for the knockout.
Cliff misses with a few strikes there.

Kootz throws an overhand right that lands on Cliff's shoulder, as Cliff tries to avoid the shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Cliff blocks the leg kick.

Kootz looks to score with a jab to the body but Cliff is just out of range.
Kootz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cliff sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Kootz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Cliff on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kootz misses with a left hand
and Cliff counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kootz thinking.

and Cliff counters with a left and a right that stings Kootz.
Kootz looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cliff cracks Kootz on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kootz falls backwards against the cage. Cliff follows up with more strikes that drop Kootz to his knees. Cliff keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kootz! This one is all over!
