Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peppu Reiska MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wangjannoi Payakaroon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacDonald kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Iggy Pop - Wild One. Payakaroon has chosen thai fight music as his entrance music. Wangjannoi Payakaroon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payakaroon throws a head kick but MacDonald moves out of range.

MacDonald walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Payakaroon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Payakaroon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. MacDonald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Payakaroon throws a wild body kick that MacDonald sees coming a mile off.
Payakaroon tries to land a front kick but MacDonald steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Payakaroon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Payakaroon has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Payakaroon there as he acknowledges the shot.
MacDonald gets cracked there but stands up to it.

MacDonald shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Payakaroon's guard.

Payakaroon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MacDonald. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

MacDonald is really struggling to control Payakaroon but he's trying to hold on to the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
