PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stelios Raptis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raptis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Deviser - Threnody. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raptis walks into a jab.
A jab from Belfort finds it's way through Raptis's defenses.
Belfort throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Raptis on the side of the head.
Belfort lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Stelios Raptis has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Belfort bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Raptis's head.
Belfort lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Raptis on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Raptis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Raptis shoots in looking for a takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl out of it but Raptis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belfort manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Belfort lands a nice hook to Raptis's body. Raptis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Raptis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Oooooh!!! Belfort has knocked Raptis down with a huge combo! Belfort steps away and waves a wobbly Raptis back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Raptis is breathing heavily.
Raptis walks straight into a right hand from Belfort - that's dropped him! Belfort jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Raptis from any more punishment! Raptis complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Viktor Belfort!
