Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Minotauro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Diego Minotauro was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Minotauro!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris misses with a wild body shot.
Harris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Harris avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Minotauro scores with a takedown into Harris's guard.
Minotauro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Minotauro throwing strikes but missing.
Harris working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Minotauro.
Minotauro wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.
Harris trying to keep a closed guard but Minotauro is proving a slippery customer.
Harris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Harris is really struggling to control Minotauro but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Harris wants to sweep but no luck.
Minotauro wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

Harris working for a triangle but Minotauro defends it easily.

Harris is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Minotauro looking to pass the guard.

Minotauro avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Minotauro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Harris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Harris seems to be looking for submissions.

Harris is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Minotauro tries to roll over but Harris keeps him under control.

Harris is trying to work for a kimura but Minotauro is defending well.
Harris sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Harris is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Harris is looking to take a break and control but Minotauro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Minotauro wants to get back to full guard but Harris has passed into side control.

Harris is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Minotauro knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Harris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Minotauro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Harris looking to control but instead Minotauro has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Well, if Harris is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Minotauro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Harris works his way into side control.
Minotauro is looking to reverse the position.

Minotauro manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harris's best efforts.
Harris moves nicely into side control.
Minotauro wants to control but Harris postures up.

Harris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Minotauro, who protects the arm well.
Minotauro is looking for a sweep.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Harris is working to tighten is grip on Minotauro's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Minotauro has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Harris is really squeezing tight and eventually Minotauro passes out! Harris breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
