Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sampsa Pikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sampsa Pikari could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mike Hawk's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pikari closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pikari throws an elbow but Hawk slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hawk is pushing Pikari's head away, looking to escape. Pikari manages to hold on to the position though.
Hawk is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hawk avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pikari.
Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pikari. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pikari landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Pikari throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Pikari misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pikari waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Hawk.
Pikari scores with a jab.
Pikari throws a hook but Hawk avoids it easily.
Hawk digs a good body shot into Pikari's ribs.
Pikari misses with a hook.
Pikari misses with a looping left.
Pikari tries for a takedown but Hawk sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hawk lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pikari at a distance.
The fighters circling - Pikari throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pikari.
Hawk misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pikari will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pikari is breathing heavily.

Pikari feints and as Hawk raises his hands in defense, Pikari changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hawk scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hawk lands a jab-cross combination.

Pikari is rocked!
Hawk lands a right hook to the body.
Oh Pikari is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pikari drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hawk is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pikari is controlling him well.
Pikari scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hawk to see if he's OK.
Pikari seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawk tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Pikari tries to get the hooks in deep but Hawk pushed the leg off.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Pikari.

Hawk is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pikari connects with a couple of big shots that have Hawk covering up! Oh, this looks bad for Hawk! Pikari fires away with several more unanswered shots and the referee has no choice but to step in! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sampsa Pikari!
