PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Jane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Tosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tosh has chosen Stepping Razor as his entrance music. Peter Tosh told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Tosh!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Tosh. Jane does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jane throws an off balance right hand
and Tosh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tosh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jane pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jane walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Tosh checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jane connects with a body shot that sends Tosh's belly button to the back.
Jane throws a body punch but Tosh moves out of range.
Jane lets loose with a powerful body kick. Tosh will feel that in the morning.

Jane throws a right hand that Tosh ducks under and follows up with a left that Tosh also avoids with ease.

Tosh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jane.

and Tosh makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jane really felt that one!

Jane does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Jane is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tosh.

Jane is looking to wear down Tosh with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Tosh takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tosh takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Tosh shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tosh has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Tosh lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Tosh has control of Jane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jane regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tosh breaks from Jane's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Tosh pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tosh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
