Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheick Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Spoilin For A Fight . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kongo is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Kongo circles away and we're back to standing.
Kongo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jab, jab by Mir - just one landing.
Mir misses with a double jab.
Mir tries for a takedown but Kongo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kongo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Mir shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kongo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mir has hold of Kongo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kongo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mir cranks the arm and Kongo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kongo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Frank Mir!
