The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a series of punches but Cormeir moves out of range.
Cormeir takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Michaels stuns Cormeir with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Cain Cormeir has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Michaels will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fighters circle momentarily. Michaels darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Michaels shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cormeir eats them both and turns towards Michaels to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cormeir feints and as Michaels raises his hands in defense, Cormeir changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cormeir lands a nice short elbow.
Cormeir thows a huge punch but Michaels dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cormeir is pressing down on Michaels's thigh, looking to free his foot. Michaels is holding on for now.

Cormeir is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Michaels can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cormeir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Michaels is still in real trouble! Can Cormeir finish him?
A big strike lands for Cormeir! That's really hurt Michaels and he's turned his back - Cormeir keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Cormeir jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
