Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fook yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). yu comes to the cage accompanied by MegaDeth- This Day We FIGHT!. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fook yu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mitsuyo Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
yu shoots in for a double leg but Maeda sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nice sprawl there from Maeda as yu shoots in.
Maeda swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maeda slips under a jab.
yu loads up on a big right hand but Maeda slips the punch.
yu tries a low kick but Maeda avoids it.
yu misses with a body shot.
yu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maeda's waist but Maeda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing yu off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fook yu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
yu misses with a combination
and Maeda counters with a stiff right hand.
Some wild striking there from yu.
yu throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
yu swinging wildly here.
yu staying out of range there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
yu misses the shot to the body.
Maeda throws a good cross that connects.
yu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maeda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Maeda looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
yu tries to roll over but Maeda keeps him under control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Maeda lands a nice short elbow.
Maeda throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Maeda throws a strike but yu avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Maeda throws a big elbow that misses.
yu trying to keep a closed guard but Maeda is proving a slippery customer.
Maeda missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
yu controls Maeda momentarily but Maeda frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maeda looking to pass the guard.
Maeda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fook yu.

Maeda closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. yu did well to prevent Maeda getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
yu preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
yu is looking to improve his position.
Maeda lands with a punch from half guard.
yu regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Maeda.
yu is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
yu has momentary wrist control but Maeda slips an elbow through the middle.
yu keeping full guard, as Maeda tries to pass.
Maeda is working yu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

yu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maeda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maeda keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of yu's head.
yu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
yu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Maeda postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
yu wants to sweep here but Maeda controlling him for the moment.
yu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Maeda lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Maeda pushing down on yu's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Maeda seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Maeda working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Maeda thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
yu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Maeda is working away from the top position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maeda not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Maeda looks to land a strike but yu avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Maeda stops yu from standing up.
yu can't keep his opponent in guard - Maeda advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
yu on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
yu trying to hold on to Maeda's head to control him but Maeda postures up.
Maeda landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Maeda working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maeda connects with a nice short shot to yu's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitsuyo Maeda dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Maeda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in yu's guard now.

Maeda postures up in yu's guard and throws a big left but yu blocks it.
yu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maeda.
Maeda throws a big right hand that misses.
yu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maeda manages to get himself to full guard.
yu looking to sit in guard and control but Maeda gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Maeda connects with a couple of short punches.
Maeda distracts yu with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maeda scoring with some ground and pound.
Oh yu is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
yu has momentary wrist control but Maeda slips an elbow through the middle.

Maeda postures up.
Maeda forces his way into half guard.
yu wants to get back to his feet.
Maeda is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for yu!
yu seems to have got his legs back now.
yu wants to hold on but Maeda pushes him away.
Maeda lands a nice shot to the head.
yu is looking to improve his position but Maeda isn't that keen on the idea.
Maeda cracks yu with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitsuyo Maeda!
Mitsuyo Maeda decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
